Ending Support for Microsoft Windows Vista
Original Issue Date: March 30, 2017
Microsoft has announced that the End of Life for Windows Vista is April 11, 2017. Windows Vista was introduced in November 2006 and its latest major update was Service Pack 2, which was released in May of 2009. The latest version of Microsoft Windows is Windows 10.
After April 11, 2017, Windows Vista will no longer receive Security updates, Non-security hotfixes, Free or paid assisted support options, or online technical content updates from Microsoft. Hence, systems running Windows Vista will be more vulnerable to virus, malware and other security threats.
It is recommended that all users and organizations using Windows Vista in their environment should upgrade from Windows Vista to a currently supported operating system.
